dc.descriptionThis experimental type study, the purpose of which is comparing the whitening effectivity of vital teeths o fan agent used at the clinic and ambulatory type agent. In this study subjects going to the dental operatory clinic of the University of Los Andes, Mérida – Venezuela, with ages comprised between 16 and 26 years of age. Of a total of 40 patients that wanted a dental whitening, only 30 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Later on 22 patients were selected in order to become part of the study. The simple was divided in two groups, a first group to whom the photoactive whitening agent was applied and a second group to which the ambulatory whitening agent was applied. With the data obtained a statistical analysis was carried out obtaining as a result that there is no relation between the whitening effectivity generated by a photoactive agent and the ambulatory agent. In the same way the results showed the presence of immediate dental sensibility with both whitening techniques and gingival irritation with one of the techniques applied. The conclusion is that both techniques fulfill expire with the standards of whitening dental and that this effects are going to depend on factors partners with the patient.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente estudio de tipo experimental, tiene como propósito comparar la efectividad blanqueadora en dientes vitales de un agente utilizado en consultorio (fotoactivado) y un agente de tipo ambulatorio (convencional). En este estudio se incluyeron sujetos que asistieron a la Clínica de Operatoria Dental de la Universidad de Los Andes, Mérida- Venezuela, con edades comprendidas entre 16 y 26 años. De un total de 40 pacientes que buscaban realizarse un blanqueamiento dental, solo 30 pacientes cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión. Posteriormente, se seleccionó al azar 22 pacientes a los fines de conformar la muestra del estudio. La muestra fue dividida en 2 grupos, un primer grupo a los cuales se les aplicó el agente blanqueador fotoactivado y un segundo grupo a los cuales se les aplicó el agente blanqueador ambulatorio. Con los datos obtenidos se elaboró un análisis estadístico con el programa SPSS 12.0, obteniendo como resultado que no existe relación entre la efectividad blanqueadora generada por un agente fotoactivado y el agente ambulatorio, de igual manera, los resultados reflejaron la presencia de sensibilidad dental inmediata con ambas técnicas blanqueadoras e irritación gingival con una de las técnicas aplicadas. Se concluye que ambas técnicas cumplen con los estándares de blanqueamiento dental y que sus efectos secundarios van a depender de factores asociados al paciente.es-ES
